Stamping Bella Bellariffic Friday - Something New

Happy Friday Friends!
Its another Bellariffic Friday challenge on the Stamping Bella blog and this week they challenged the design team to use any stamp from their recent release. I decided to use the Irish Chicks stamp set and their coordinating "cut it out" dies.

I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them with Copic markers. To create the background, I did some simple masking using Distress Oxide inks in Salty Ocean for the clouds and and to create grass I used Twisted Citron and and Mowed Lawned Distress Inks.
I hope you like my clean and simple card I created, I sure enjoyed created this one.
Until next time - Stephen

Bellariffic Friday - Backdrop

Hi Friends! Its Friday and that means its BellaRiffic Fridays over on the Stamping Bella blog. This weeks challenge is to use any stamp from the Stamp of the Month collection which is anything from the Backdrops collection. Stamping Bella has a wonderful collection of Backdrops that are must haves if you love crating scene cards.

For the challenge, I used the Tiny Townie Mermaid set and coordinating dies and accented it with the Undersea Backdrop
I coloured everything with my Copic markers and added droplets of Various Ink to create the bubble background.
I did some basic ink blending on the top layer of my card with Distress Oxides in the colours Faded Jeans and Broken China and then splattered it with water to get that bleached out effect.

I hope you like my card creation and be sure to check out the Stamping Bella Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team came up with.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - January Previews Day 4

Hi Friends! Welcome to the final day of previews for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Today I get to share a beautiful new sentiment stamp set that is a must have for any stamp collection. This was designed by artist Melissa Baker-Nguyen.

This is a rarity for me...can you believe I created a card with no colouring on it!? I know...but it was so fun to be able to break out of my comfort zone and do something so different for me. I created some vary quick and simple cards that anyone can whip up, if you so happen to need an encouragement card last minute. I used pattern papers with a watercolour look to them and die cut them out using stitched rectangle dies. I heat embossed the sentiments from the stamp set using white embossing powder overtop of kraft card stock then die cut them as well, but this time with a circle stitched die. To embellish the cards, I simple used various die cuts from my collection as well as some ribbons, gel pen accents and some gold floss. Quick, easy and simple.

Bellariffic Friday - Vintage

Hi Friends!
Its Friday and that means its time for some Stamping Bella inspiration. Wait till you see what the rest of the Stamping Bella Design Team came up with for this weeks challenge...oh! I guess I should say what the challenge is...This weeks challenge is "Vintage". Vintage as in - use any Stamping Bella stamp that is not from the latest release. So I used Peyton loves to Pretend from the Tiny Townie Collection as well as its matching cut it outs dies .

I decided to colour her with Prismacolor coloured pencils using the following colours

PRISAMACOLOR PENCILS
Skin - PC946, PC945, PC943, PC939, PC927, PC140, PC938
Hair - PC935, PC1067, PC1065, PC1061, PC938
Chicks - PC922,  PC918,  PC1002,  PC916,  PC915,  PC914,  PC938
Leggings -  PC1067,  PC1065,  PC1060,  PC938

To create my card layout, I used the meadow boarders dies from lawn fawn to create the grass and used my copic markers to add flicks of grass onto the cardstock. I did some ink blending with Distress Oxide overtop of Kraft Cardstock using Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers, and Fossilized Amber. To finish off my card, I added some line detailing with a white as well as a black gel pen and a few sequins.

I hope you like my card creation for today! Be sure to check out the Stamping Bella blog to see what the rest of Bella design team came up with...get ready to be inspired!

Until next time - Stephen

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - January Previews Day 3

Hello Friends! Welcome to day 3 of previews for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Today I get to introduce to you a new stamp set designed by Emilie Goulet called, "Girl Power!" I absolutely love this stamp set...so many possibilities.

I decided to colour up the skater chick as it reminded me of a number of my friends back in my high school years. I used the following Copic markers

Copics:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, R20
Backpack/Shorts - Y08, Y13, Y15, W2
Skateboard/Beanie - YR18, YR07, YR04, Y17
Hoodie - BG49, BG45, C5, C3

I created a very simple card layout using rectangle and square stitched dies which I accented with a strong geometric pattern paper. Of course I had to add a few gold sequins to finish off my card cause it wouldn't be a card of mine without sequin after all.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - January Previews Day 2

Hi Friends! We are on day 2 of previews for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

This stamp set is near and dear to my heart as I recently lost two of my precious furry friends - One in October and one in December. I think loosing a pet is one of the most heart breaking things you can go through and I am so happy that there is now a stamp set that shares the sentiments of loosing a furry family member.

I started by stamping the image of the dog in Dessert Sand ink by Memento. It is a very light ink, perfect for the no-line colouring technique I used to colour this card. If you would like to try no-line colouring for yourself, I wrote an in depth post on how to do it here. It is so fun and once you get the hang of no-line, you will want to do it again and again.

I used the following Copic markers to colour this image

Copics:
Dog - E59, E57, E55, E53
Collar - B16, B14, B12
Wings - W7, W5, W3, W1
I also added the blush for the checks with a coloured pencils to warm the image up a bit

I used various stencils to create the background with my distress inks. If you would like to see how I created the cloud background with Distress Ink, click here

lastly, I added some shimmery gold dots with a gold gel pen for an added touch.

Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps – January Previews Day 1

Hi Friends! Welcome to day 1 of Previews for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Today I am excited to introduce a new stamp set from artist Annie Rodrigue called Stacey Slapshot.

I coloured this awesome image with Copic markers using the following markers

Copics:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, R20
Hair/Blacks - T8, T6, T4
Soft Greys - C4, C2, C0
Red - R39, R37, R35, T6, T4
Helmet - R39, R37, R35, T4, B00
Stick - E23, E21, E50, T8, T6, T4

I kept my card base very simple by ink blending the following Distress Oxide Inks - Candied Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber. To add some more detail, I matted my ink blended piece on some light grey cardstock then placed it on a dark grey card base. To finish off the card, I added a few coordinating sequins for a little sparkle and shine.

Stamp AnnieThing - James HB2U

Hello Friends! Its my day to post over on the Stamp AnnieThing blog. I decided to kick off the New Year with a clean and simple card. I used "James - Happy Birthday To You" and coloured him with my Copic markers. I wanted to try something new by creating a background using only pattern papers, cut into various shapes. I thought the card needed something more, so to kick it up a notch I added a small black boarder to frame each piece of pattern paper. I heat embossed the sentiment directly onto the pattern paper and added a few enamal dots to finish off my card.

I hope you like my card! Until next time - Stephen

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps - Saturday Sentiment Challenge

Hi Friends!
I am honoured to be guest designing for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps all month long...I was so so excited when Kim asked me.
I created a card for the first KKS Saturday Challenge of the year (Details about the Challenge and how you can enter below)
I kept my card design extremely simple as I wanted the focus to remain on the amazing image itself as I spent A LOT of time colouring it. The stamp set is called, "Cocoa Cozy" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Be sure to check out the KKS store to see her amazing selection of stamps...I will warn you though, they are addictive and you will find yourself wanting them all. Back to my card... I have been really trying to challenge myself artistically by exploring different colouring mediums and Coloured Pencils (In particular, Prismacolor coloured pencils) are one thing I have wanted to play around with but I have always found them too hard...slowly I feel I'm improving with them and I so love the depth and detail you can get with Coloured Pencils. So get ready for lots of images coloured with pencils in the future because I'm really enjoying using them. What do you think of my card? Do you like the look of coloured pencils on Kraft Cardstock or do you prefer Copic colouring?

Details about the Challenge:
Today we are kicking the year off with our very first Saturday challenge of 2018! Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps decided to do away with the Wednesday challenges so we all can focus on the fun themes during our Saturday challenges! AND Kim is changing things up as far as prizes!!! Each Saturday she will post a new challenge and you can enter as many times as you like!!! Worth playin' for?   Keep in mind, all entries are welcome but you must use a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp in order to win.
We've also got a brand new sketch for your inspiration for January! You don't have to use it but if you need a little extra kickstart in your mojo, feel free to use it any time!

`~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I had a lot of fun creating this card. I started by colouring up Charlotte using my Copic markers then cutting her out using my Brother Scan n' Cut.

Copics
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, R20
Hair - E57, E55, E53, E51, E50

To create the background, I started by doing some ink blending using  Distress Oxide inks in the colours Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet, and Faded Jeans...I really liked this colour combo.

I then used a brick stencil as well as some texture paste to create the illusion of a stone wall to help set my scene.

I hope you enjoyed our Sneek Peek for the release!

 Have a great day!

Bellariffic Friday - Winter Backdrop Challenge

Hello Friends!
Its the first Bellariffic Friday of 2018!  Emily from Stamping Bella has given us some really fun challenges this month and I'm so excited to participate in them...be sure to play along in the Stamping Bella Sistahood! Facebook group
This weeks challenge is to create a card using the Winter Backdrop stamp set. This stamp set is 25% off for the entire month of January...be sure to snap it up if you can

I created a fairly simple shaker card that frames a small section of the Winter Backdrop stamp set. I chose to focus my attention on colouring a small area of the image with my Copic markers and use details like my diecuts and embellishments to help bring the scene to life.

What do you think?

Until next time - Stephen

Stamp AnnieThing January Release - Day 2

Hi and welcome to our first release for the NEW YEAR!
We are so excited to share with you all the wonderful new stamps and other
wonderful products we will carry in our line this year!

Nicole will be available in the store Friday along with the other 2 stamps we showed you  this week!!
`~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

OK, so I decided to try something totally out of my comfort zone for this card...coloured pencils. This is the first card I created using only coloured pencils exclusively as my colouring medium. I am pretty happy with the results and I think you will be seeing more images coloured with Coloured Pencils in the future. Did I mention that I received the 150 set in Prismas and the 120 set of Polychromos for Christmas...yup - I'm very spoiled.

So to create this card, I simply stamped the image on Kraft Cardstock using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then stamped it again but this time on masking paper. I cut out the image on the masking paper and then applied it overtop of the image on the kraft cardstock and Ink blended Broken China and Peeled paint Distress Oxcide Ink overtop to create my background. Once that was done, I started colouring...now this did take me some time as you have to slowly build up layer by layer of the pencil. Like I said, I am still learning but I really did enjoy doing something out of my comfort zone.

I hope you enjoyed our Sneek Peek for the release!

 Have a great day!
