Wedding card featuring Stamp AnnieThing stamps

It's my turn to share over on the Stamp Anniething Blog today!
I've made a sweet Wedding card with a shaker element featuring two stamps from the May Stamp AnnieThing Release - Eloise Congratulations and Tommy Way to Go
I kept my colour pallet and card design more simple to allow the focus to remain on Eloise and Tommy.
I started with a A2 sized card front and adhered a diagonal stripped pattern paper to the left hand side. I then Die cut out the window using the Stitched Dome Frames from MFT. I used the same die and cut out another frame but this time out a white glitter paper. I adhered a piece of clear acetate on the backside of the card front and then glued the glitter frame I cut out on the front. I popped my card front up with a double layer of foam tape onto another piece of card stock that I ink blended some Victorian Velvet Distress Ink on. I filled the card with a bunch of coordinating sequins, prills, and beads.
I coloured Eloise and Tommy with my Copic markers and then adhered them to my card front. I stamped the sentiment that came with Eloise on a a thin piece of paper that I cut into a banner shape. To finish off my card, I added some Nuvo drops around then sentient in the colour Silver Linings.

I hope you like my card creation!

Kraftin' Kimmie - Let them Eat Cupcakes pt 2

Happy Wednesday friends! As you know I created a card that I shared with you on Monday that used the "Let them Eat Cupcakes" stamp set from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. I loved the stamp set so much that I coloured all the images in the set and ended up creating two very different cards, the second which I am sharing with you today.

I coloured her using my Copic markers with the following colours
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, E93
Hair - E47, E44, YR27, YR23, YR21
Vest/Headband - R39, R37, R35, R32
Shirt/Shoes - BG49, BG45
Pants - T10, T8, T6, T4

To create the background, I used the Triangle Turnabout background stamp by Concord & 9th. If you haven't seen this unique stamp in action, check out the video here

I used the "Happy" die cut from the "Happy Greetings" die set from MFT and popped it up with fun foam to give it added dimension  For some added detail, I used some clear Nuvo crystal drops overtop of the letters to add some extra shine. I then cut out the "Sentiment Label Strip" die cut and adhered the word "Happy" to it and then stamped "Birthday" underneath. I think it adds a fun touch to the card yet doesn't take away from the image I coloured.

I hope you like todays card!

Until next time - Stephen

Kraftin' Kimmie - Let Them Eat Cupcakes

So I'm just going be upfront with you all and let you know that you're gonna' be seeing lots of cards using Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps in the future. I have recently become obsessed with their unique designs and man, oh man, are they challenging yet, oh so fun to colour.

For todays card, I am using stamps from the "Let Them Eat Cupcakes set"

As always I stamped my images on Hammermill 100lb card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with my much loved Copic Markers using the following colours.

Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, E93
Hair/Muffins - E59, E57, E55, E53
Pants/Headband - RV29, RV25, RV23, RV21
Shirt- Y17, Y15, Y11, Y13, Y11
Apron - YG09, YG07, YG06, YG05, YG01

I kept the layout of my card pretty simple as I wanted the focus to be on my image that I had so much fun (and time spent) colouring. I used the scallop die and fishtail banner die from the Blueprints 27 set from MFT to create the majority of my card layout. I added some striped patterned paper for some added interest and as well I used a stitched circle die to help ground my image. I coloured 4 strips of white Hammermill paper in Green, Yellow and Pink Copic markers and glued them overtop of the patterned paper to tie in all the colours.

I am pretty pleased with the results of this card, as it is a different card style then I'm accustomed too. I ended up loving this stamp set so much that I actually made a second card with it; I'll be sharing that fun card with you Wednesday.

Until next time - Stephen

Altenew - Hug Me stamp set

Happy Friday everyone! I am popping in today to share a card I made last week, Live on my Stampin' Steve Facebook page. If you are not a follower of my page, I do Live Streams every so often and create a card start to finish...unplanned, unscripted but totally fun.
I decided to play around with the, "Hug Me" stamp set from Altnew. I love the beautiful and unique designs of Altenew's stamps and when I saw the "Hug Me set", it was just so unique and playful, I just had to get it.

The set has so many wonderful images in it but the one that I wanted to colour up first was the Fox that had "Hug Me" written behind him.  I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Hammermill 100lb cardstock. I did some very simply colouring with my Copic markers using the following colours:

YR18, YR16, YR15, Y15
BB28 ,B26, B26

Once my colouring was finished, I used the coordinating dies to cut the image out. I love how the die cuts around the letters and the image...so unique.

I created a simple background starting with a A2 sized piece of Tim Holtz watercolour paper. I used the Radiating Rays stencil from MFT and blended my Nuvo Embellishment Mousse in Indian Gold and Pure Platinum overtop of the stencil.

Once my background was dry, I added a black matting to frame and ground the background piece. I also added some foam tape to the back of my cute fox for some added dimension and adhered him to my card front. For some added sparkle and shine, I added some clear Wink Of Stella glitter pen to the words, "hug me". For a finishing touch, I heat embossed one of the smaller sentiments with white embossing powder onto a thin black banner piece.

I have included the video of the live stream if you would like to watch the process...but unfortunately the video cuts off at the end as my computer battery died...oops

Until next time - Stephen

Experimenting with Nuvo Mousse and Distress Oxides

My friends at my local scrapbook store, Two Scrapbook Friends challenged me to use Nuvo Mousse. I have to be honest, they have been sitting on my desk for over a month and I didn't touch them, as I was a little unsure of what to do with them. I did a live stream on my Stampin' Steve Facebook page last week decided to crack them open and give them a try...LIVE!! Oh my gosh, I don't know why I waited so long to play with them. I feel like I have just cracked the surface of the possibilities of this amazing new product from Tonic Studios. If you like beautiful shimmer and shine, then this product is for you.

I cut an A2 sized card front out of Tim Holtz water colour paper. I will say that I have fell back in love with this brand of watercolour paper as I love how bright white it is. I decided to do some ink smooshing on my craft mat with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide, slowly building up layers to get a very cool demential effect.
Once my I was happy with my smooshing and it was fully dry, I grabbed the Nuvo Mousse in Indian Gold and Pure Platinum as well as the Mini Woven Stencil from TCW. I used a blending tool with foam applicator and basically blended the two colours together with the stencil overtop of my Oxide background. The result was stunning! Is subtle at first but when the shimmery Nuvu mousse catches the light - wow!

For the stamp set, I used Enchanted Iris and its coordinating dies from Altenew. I stamped them using memento tuxedo black ink on Hammermill 100lbs card stock  I coloured the beautifully illustrated images with my Copic markers using the following colours

Flowers - V09, V17, V15, V12, Y08, Y06
Leaves - YG01, YG03, YG17, YG63, YG67

To finish off my card, I added a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and added yellow matting to bring it all together. I had a lot of fun creating this card, thanks for stopping by!

Until next time - Stephen

Seeing Stars!

Theme Week 19 - Seeing Stars!

Hi everyone! It's my day to post at Stamp AnnieThing and I have a fun card to share.
I used the Annie - You Did It! stamp set for my challenge card. The theme for this challenge is "Seeing Stars"

I started this card with a standard A2 card base and created a simple background using my Clarity stencil brushes, Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, and the Star Shower stencil from The Crafters Workshop. The Clarity stencil brushes are amazing for doing subtle backgrounds with your inks.
I went through my scrap bin and found the perfect piece of diagonal striped patterned paper that I paired with a scrap of black glitter paper. I decided to do some repeat stamping using the sentiment that comes with the stamp set. I used different shades of blue and stamped the sentiment vertical following the line of the pattern paper.

I stamped Annie - You Did It! with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on my favourite Copic friendly paper Hammermill 100lb and coloured her up with Copic markers.

To finish, I took my corner chopper and rounded the top left and bottom right corners of the card. I also added some black Nuvo drops for some extra detail.

I hope you all liked my card for today and thanks for visiting!

Until next time - Stephen

Let's Roll, DUDE!

Back in April, I attended Scrapfest in Kitchener. I stumbled upon a new to me stamp company, "Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps". They have so many unique stamps, I just had to purchase some including the, "Let's Roll, DUDE!" set.

I went outside my comfort zone and created my own background from scratch by drawing a retro cartoon inspired background. I coloured the background with my Copic markers. To add more depth to my  background, I used my Distress Inks and stencilled on some funky patterns overtop of my colouring.

I fussy cut out my skater kid and popped him up with foam tape and die cut out a speech bubble and stamped the sentiment on it to carry through with the cartoon feel of the card.

Copic Markers:
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, E50, E93
Hair - E59, E57, E55, E53
Shirt - Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11
Shorts - E89, E87, E84, E81
Helmet/Roller Blades - T7, T6, T5, T2, YR18, YR16, Y17

Stencils:
Rose Stencil by Tim Holtz from the Mini Stencil Set 14
Tiny Circles from TCW

Distress Inks:
Peeled Paint
Twisted Citron
